Our Mission:

Global Humanitarian Expeditions’ mission is to provide volunteers to work on-site to preserve and facilitate autonomy and improved quality of life for indigenous peoples around the globe. Our volunteers, in conjunction with local staff, work to create, implement and maintain humanitarian projects in health care, education and community empowerment.

Our philosophy is based on the S.H.A.R.E. principle:

Service - Service is the most important component of our philosophy and our projects. Our volunteers serve by sharing their skills and experience. Dedication to service is the key to the success of our projects.

Humanitarian - Our philosophy focuses on promoting the human welfare of people in the communities where our volunteers serve, whether the project is one of education, healthcare, or community development.

Autonomy - Our projects are intended to empower people by offering the tools and knowledge they need to be independent and gain (or maintain) their autonomy.

Respect - We have great respect for the culture and wisdom in the communities where we serve. It is local experts, community elders and staff who determine the objectives and course of action for our projects.

Enrichment - Our projects offer the unique opportunity for volunteers and local people to engage in a truly life-enriching experience. Local people and volunteers report an enormous amount of satisfaction in working toward common goals and sharing culture-specific perspectives on project development and maintenance.
